Of all the fake things about Trump, the most comical, but also psychologically insightful (for that, see what his niece Mary the PhD psychologist has to say), is his fixation on lying about his height. Up to and including the recent phony physical that claimed he was 6’3” 224 lbs and in excellent health.
How neurotic do you have to be as a man who in his youth was much taller than average, to keep lying about your height in your dotage? But then again, fits right along with the ridiculous comb-over, spray orange tan and pretense of being a tycoon, rather than a daddy-made, second son, Fredo-energy, spanko perv, scripted reality TV game show actor who squandered his inheritance.
Saquon Barkley (pictured) is listed at 6’0” and 233 lbs. Note the additional 40 pounds or so of funion pudge around Diaper Don’s waist. (Not to mention that Saquon is probably in off-season shape, with a few extra pounds himself.)
Kayfabe is everywhere. From Hollywood touting Rock Hudson as a straight ladies’ man. To Walter Bagehot’s “dignified vs. efficient” parts/strata of the (unwritten) English Constitution. Of course to the opulence of poverty-preaching clerics in Rome. To whiskey-loving Tricky Dick Nixon selling himself as a teetotaling Quaker. To Slick Willie Clinton not having sex with “that woman”. To Wall Street insiders who go on CNBC saying with straight faces that insider trading is not endemic in the financial markets.
And on and on.
The personality cult is WWE. Most of the spawns of Satan of the inner royal court (Cheung, Miller, Epshteyn, Don Jr. et al) and other bandwagon jumping oligarchs and celebrities … from Kid Rock to Jeff Bezos, now sadly to Saquon … all know the image is fake, as are most of the social media rants and the rest of the agitprop. They enjoy the fun of the theater. Pwning the libtards and wokies.
Designed to get those snowflakey blues to wring their hands, fall into depression and curl up in the fetal position. The easier to pluck and pan-roast the sad little pigeons.
“Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them” as ex-Senator Al Franken put it so memorably in the title of his 2003 book.
Don’t be a trick.
